As part of the World Cleanup Day on September 18, several Emsland Group trainees met the day before to collect trash around the Emlichheim location.
Equipped with trash pickers, gloves and trash bags, small groups set out to clean up the walking paths and wooded areas.
The group collected everything from discarded cans, bottles and food packaging to broken toys, kites and soccer balls.
After a good hour and a half of work, the young colleagues gathered again at the main building and enjoyed a free ice cream in the company canteen.
Emsland Group as sponsor
World Cleanup Day is a project of the citizens' movement "Let's Do It World!", which originated in Estonia in 2008 when 50,000 people worked together to rid the entire country of illegally disposed waste in one day. In 2019, 21 million people around the world participated in World Cleanup Day and sent a strong signal for a clean, healthy and trash-free environment through their cleanups.
This year, the Emsland Group also participated as a sponsor to support the Noabers Junior Chamber of Commerce in its World Cleanup Day initiative.
