In 1970, Hagenow was a production facility for fries; the flakes puree and dumpling powder products came later. After reunification, extensive investments gave rise to one of the most modern locations for dried potato products in Europe, the Hagenow plant. As of September 2013, Emsland-Stärke GmbH became the main shareholder of Mecklenburg Kartoffelveredlung GmbH in Hagenow.

In addition to the potato flakes produced at the Hagenow plant, other products such as mashed potatoes, potato and bread dumplings and fried potatoes are also produced under the brand name ‘Echt vom Feld’. They consist of regionally cultivated, gently processed potatoes of the highest quality. Alongside the retail sector of consumer food services, the focus of the brand is also on wholesale food services as well as the private label business.

The Hagenow plant produces potato flakes which are used industrially as well as in the retail business.
