The Golßen plant was constructed in 1879 by the brothers Paul and Artur Lösche and produced potato starch, dextrin, special adhesives and cooking oil until 1945. In 1991, the Golßener starch plant was taken over by Emsland-Starke GmbH. Since then, extensive investments ranging in the millions have been made to improve the technical expertise and capacity.
The main focus in Golßen is placed on the production of starches and proteins from potatoes and peas. Fish feed is also produced here. The brands Aller Aqua® and Aquavalent® have been marketed very successfully here.
Additional applications include paper, textiles, adhesives and chemical-technical industries. The majority of native starch is processed into dry cationic starches.
