25 Years of Emsland Service — A Quarter of a Century, Success and Progress

On October 30, Emsland-Service-GmbH celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special event at the Emlichheim site. The celebration began in the morning with an official part at which Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Martin Grüne welcomed numerous guests: Customers, suppliers, partners and employees of Emsland Service and Emsland-Stärke. Those present were honored for their contribution to the company’s success story, as they have played a key role in making Emsland Service what it is today — an integral part of the Emsland Group and a significant success factor.

In his welcoming speech, Martin Grüne recalled the development of the company and the important decisions that have shaped this path. In 1999, Emsland-Service was spun off as an independent part of Emsland-Stärke in order to focus even more strongly on the specialized needs and requirements of its customers. In 2019, Emsland-Stärke then took over the entire company shares, which was exactly the right decision for Martin Grüne: “Emsland Service belongs here – Emsland-Stärke is a part of who we are.”

The management of the Emsland Group was also present. Managing Director Gerrit-Jan Wesselink emphasized the importance of the employees’ in-depth expertise and commitment to the company’s development. Thanks to numerous investments, new buildings and modernizations in recent years, Emsland Service has made a decisive contribution to the positive development of the production of Emsland-Stärke and Emsland Food. And the future looks promising: A new warehouse is currently being built, a new washing and grating station is also being installed and the oxidation systems are being renewed and expanded — a clear sign that the company wants to continue to grow and modernize. “To do this, we need people who can get stuck in and people who can do it,” says Wesselink. Good specialists are more in demand than ever, and those who show commitment and ability at Emsland Service have the best prospects here.

Wesselink also emphasized the team spirit: Collegiality and mutual support characterize the working atmosphere and are of great importance, especially in challenging times. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all employees for their tireless commitment, expertise and hard work.

Following the speeches, André Meijer, Head of Project Planning, and Dr.-Ing. Martin Grüne took the guests on a tour of the various production areas in two guided groups. The guests were also given an insight into the work and projects at Emsland-Stärke, such as the conversion of the central control station and the drying systems. The tour illustrated the importance of Emsland Service’s practical work in the production process.

The tour was followed by a relaxed get-together with finger food and drinks, where guests were able to exchange ideas and make new contacts.

The afternoon and evening then belonged to all employees and their families, who were also invited to the celebration. There was plenty to eat and drink — a barbecue buffet with a variety of salads, vegetables and dips from the Lucas Vedder party service. Those present also had a lot of fun at the nail bar and were able to celebrate the anniversary in style with music from DJ Tarzan.

A big thank you to all customers, suppliers, partners, employees and companions who have made this anniversary possible — together we can look back on 25 years of successful company history and look forward to the next steps towards a strong future.
